In this blog we take a look at a fantastic local company called Glampingpods.ie, Ireland’s number one manufacturer and supplier of luxury glamping pods. Cunningham were approached by the company’s Founder and CEO, Charlie McHenry, who required a bespoke solution for safely transporting their bespoke pods to site.

Glampingpods.ie supply luxury glamping pods across Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK and Europe for the hospitality and tourism industries. But, if you are looking one for your yourself, you could be lucky enough to get your hands on one for your new ‘at-home-getaway’ (quite literally you could have one in your back garden!) You can purchase one as a private buyer or if you are thinking of setting up your very own glamping retreat. Enough romanticising about a luxury getaway, back to business!
We spoke with Charlie about his specific need to protect the glamping pods during transportation and delivery to customer locations. Here’s a snippet of what he had to say:
Over the years, I've seen our competitors using plastic shrink wrap to cover their units, then use a logo stencil to spray paint their branding on. I liked the concept and thought it was a good attempt but for me, I seen so much wasted time, material and money! It also looked 'just ok', nothing stand out or spectacular and I would almost compare it to removing packaging from anything you purchase in a shop. A one-off use and is destroyed when removing - the environmental impact alone was concerning enough for me due to the size of our modular glamping pod units. A lot of plastic wastage which goes against one of our core values!

I saw lorry curtains with logos and branding on them and though WOW, if only I could get something similar except made to suit our modular accommodation pods. After 6 years in business, we had gone through many challenges but I was determined to give our company and brand another push into the market. I asked another local Donegal company, Duffy Express Freight, where they got their lorry curtains made and they lead us to Cunningham Covers. A quick Google search, I found your website and you looked like you could make exactly what I envisioned. I spoke with Peter Smith, Cunninghams Sales Operations Manager, explaining my vision and he definitely had the solution! We organised a consultation at their factory in Maghera, NI and get to work on the modular building cover.
As we mentioned, our slogan is ‘Clever Protective Covers®’ and that perfectly describes another fantastic use of these covers. Not only did we manufacture a cover that would protect the valuable assets during transportation, we created a MOVING BILLBOARD *gasp*.

As we spoke with Charlie about the manufacturing and design of the modular building cover, we discussed how we could incorporate their company branding. Luckily for Charlie, he came to the right place! We have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility which spans over 100,000 square feet. As part of our premises, we use the latest printing technology to produce tarpaulins that are not only STAND OUT, but will last a lifetime.
So, once the pod sizes were confirmed, we created concept drawings, showing the layout of the covers and how we envisaged the branding would look – big, bold and UNMISSABLE. Charlie was delighted and we got straight to work on making his very first modular building cover. *jumping with excitement*
